i love the colors of the pottery barn a to z quilt (on sale!!), i bought emilios before he was even born, i slowly started to find things for his room too. It is still a work in progress, i decided since hopefully another child will be added to our family, i wanted to get bunk beds for my little house ( also found a to z quilt on sale again and just a little different).
i havee been looking for a set for a while and decided even with pottery barns sales i did not want to spend that kind of cash. My dad talked me into checking out a discount center by where he use to live. that is where i got my kitchen cabinets and counter which i love!! they sell about everything you can think of.
so i found a set at the discount center that i really liked. bunk beds, and underbed storage for $199. it was strong and sturdy, i showed them to both mom dad, even aunt Teresa and bell.
my dad decided to go for a drive the other day and pick them up for me with uncle jr. he bought the wrong ones!!! these things are UGLY. i was going to make him take them back. It made me feel bad to make my father take them back after a 3 hour round trip. So i decided to make them work. Dad was shocked that i did not make him take them back. He came over and put them together and i bought him and mom a dinner out.
emilio enjoyed decorating his beds with all of his stuffed animals and pillows.
I think they are looking ok, with my hardwood floors. maybe a new throw rug, the ladder for the upper bunk (which was extra money- and really dont know why dad did not get it) and the rails up. also need to get rid of the box spring on the top bunk THEN the room should be complete. ok well a room mate for emilio and his room will be totally complete.
I have always liked my little house. But have always felt things were just thrown together. My spare bedroom furniture was my childhood bed room set. ( i still do not know why i still have this old stuff – i was not really attached to it.) When i moved in i really did not buy anything. maybe a microwave stand for the kitchen, but nothing big. I have decided to change things around. slowly but surely finding things that work better for my small spaces. Thrift store finds re done, creative storage options nd just changing things up. From a primitive jelly jar cabinet in my front entrance to the hope chest store as a window seat in my tiny living room i am making things work for my wonderful little house.
My tiny kitchen with my new over the stove microwave!!!! i have only talked about it for 8 years now.
my thrift store chairs that i fell in love with i even like the old material on them and have not attempted to re cover them yet. i trying to decide on a table. should i keep this one that is a old hand me down that i can make bigger with the full outs? I am thinking about the options for this table to re finish it and add a primitive bench to make it seat more. options and more options, but loving making my house over.
